| Overview
The Selene 57 DH is a new addition to the
Selene family. Explains Howard Chen, the designer and builder,
"It is based on the most popular model in the range - the Selene
53, but with all the key dimensions, length, beam, and height,
extended to provide that extra level of comfort and
accommodation for those who don't want to compromise."
Following the proven three stateroom layout of the 53, the Selene 57
uses the extra space to good advantage in a number of key areas. First,
it has a more spacious pilot house, giving ample room for a Stidd helm
chair in addition to the standard 'L' shaped settee and table, with
watch berth behind. The extra 6" of freeboard over the 53 also allows an
impressive average of 78" headroom throughout the boat. Below, the added
length enables larger fuel tanks to increase the range, and a large
commissary to store ample provisions for those extended passages.
Outside, entertaining becomes a pleasure, due to the larger cockpit
and flybridge areas, and the boat deck can cope with a substantial
tender, launched and retrieved effortlessly with the (optional)
hydraulic dinghy davit. At 63'2" length overall, and a displacement of
95,000lbs at full load, the Selene 57 Ocean Trawler is an impressive
vessel. |
